USA Today and Amazon Bestselling author K.C. Sivils has been a lifelong fan of science fiction and classic crime novels. As a young reader Sivils was a fan of Jules Verne and Robert Heinlein. As he grew older and expanded his reading interests to include history and crime mysteries, Sivils became a fan of past noir masters such as Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler.

The combination of film noir and science fiction in director Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s sci-fi classic Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep into the masterful Harrison Ford vehicle Blade Runner encouraged him to consume as much of both genre’s as possible.

Author of over twenty non-fiction books, including an Amazon Best Seller, Sivils has now ventured into the realm of fiction with his Inspector Thomas Sullivan series. Married to the former Lisa Green and the father of three children, Sivils is a dog lover and a fan of Classic Rock bands like The Rolling Stones and New Wave rockers The Cars.

In addition to his passion for books, Sivils is fascinated by steam powered trains as well as narrow gauge railroads. He has traveled as far as Alaska and Wales to ride trains. In addition to traveling to ride trains, Sivils has traveled extensively as a former basketball coach, traveling as far as the Central African Republic to conduct coaching clinics. Between railroads, coaching, and family, he has traveled to 47 of the 50 states, and 12 countries.

Prior to becoming an author, Sivils was a varsity basketball coach for 22 seasons, chalking up 479 career wins with his teams qualifying for the state play-offs 19 of those 22 seasons. He currently teaches U.S. History, the History of WW II, and Entrepreneurship.
